Children 1st@ Breedon House is a family run business and was founded in 1988 by Margaret Mason and her family.
The Company  has grown from a single nursery in Long Eaton Nottingham to a multi site operation offering the very best in Childcare and Education in quality, homely environments.

The Company is a Quality Counts Accredited and Investors in People Company.

We are also a CACHE accredited training centre offering NVQ qualifications to level 2&3 in Childcare and Education.

Our People

Margaret Mason (Managing Director) has been involved in Education and Childcare for many years. After joining with the founder group of the NDNA she was elected and worked as National Chair contributing to the recognition they now have today as a respected association.

During this period she strived and worked with others to develop and launch the original quality assurance and accreditation scheme known as ‘Quality Counts’

Margaret has been an active leader and member of the local NDNA and has had a prominent role within Derbyshire Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership as an influential member of various advisory groups and is well respected as an NDNA representative.

The Senior Management Team has grown over the years and consists of the following experienced Directors and Managers

All our units are registered by OFSTED and undergo regulatory inspections.

We are proud to be able to offer children between the ages of
0-12 years the very best of attention in a safe, secure and friendly environment.

We are open Monday – Friday  7.30 - 6.30pm and offer a range of services
• Baby Unit: 3-12 months
• Toddler units: 1-3 years
• Pre-school unit: 3-5 years
• After School and Holiday Club: 5-12 years

Children 1st @ Breedon House is very keen to work in partnership with parents/guardians and employers to offer a flexible childcare package.

We recognise that our main objectives are the safety and security of the child and operate a security key or code procedure for entry to the Centres.

Our Staff teams are very carefully selected subject to our stringent recruitment policies, and are experienced and qualified professionals with the skills and sensitivity necessary to promote children’s free expression and individuality.
