Spring is in the Air at Children 1st @ Oakwood
Spring is finally in the air and our forestry groups have been exploring the changes in the environment and our Early Years have been caring for our goats and ducks.
The children used their homemade viewers to search the different woodland areas to discover new growth. Spring daffodils and wild garlic are starting to grow bringing colour and scent to the woods.
Some children enjoyed making their own paint and using a variety of resources to mark make. Others enjoyed some transient art, using natural resources they found to make artwork on the ground!
The trim trail is always a hit! This is where the children practise their gross motor, balancing and climbing skills and some enjoy chatting with friends whilst sitting on a log in the spring sunshine.
Over in the farm area, our Early Years’ children have had so much fun providing animal care for our beautiful goats and ducks. The children helped collect the duck eggs and cleaned out the goats overnight shed giving them lots of fresh hay for bedtime. The children were all smiles and funny faces as they cleaned out the stinky hay!
Please remember, our duck eggs are available to take home with you. We just ask for a small donation that goes towards the upkeep of our lovely animals and that you bring your own empty egg box!
We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed the whole experience!
