Arrivals & Departures

*

It is the policy of Children 1st @ Breedon House to give a warm and friendly welcome to each child and their parents on their arrival.

Parents/guardians are requested to pass the care of their child to a specific member of staff who will ensure their safety, and that their attendance is recorded in the register.

Parents are requested to sign their children into and out of nursery, on special sheets provided. These are located in the reception area.

Nursery operates between the hours of 7.30am – 6.30pm. We appreciate that at times you may be unavoidably detained, if this is the case then please ensure that you contact the nursery at the earliest opportunity, to advise them of the situation and if you have made alternative arrangements for collection.

Under no circumstances will a child be allowed to depart from our Units unless it is with a previously identified person. A member of staff must always acknowledge the departure of a child.

In the event of parental break-up, it is essential that clear arrangements are in place, to protect ourselves, concerning the arrival and departure process. This will be requested in writing.

This procedure is necessary if we are to ensure that your wishes are met, in order to protect your child’s interests.

If the child is not collected and we have received no contact to advise the nursery of the situation the following procedures will be followed: -

  • The staff will attempt to contact any persons listed in the child details file.
  • If unsuccessful in the above the staff will contact a senior member of staff who will advise as appropriate.
  • Social Services / Child Protection Unit will be contacted.
