Settling In

*

It is the policy of Children 1st @ Breedon House to settle all children and parents/carers into nursery prior to their starting date.

The parent/carer will be encouraged to visit the nursery on at least two occasions prior to the child start date. More visits may be appropriate if any anxiety is observed.

On the visit:

  • The Nursery Manager or Deputy will receive parents and children into the Nursery.
  • The Nursery Manager/Deputy will introduce all staff and answer any questions the parent may have.

At this time the Manager/Deputy will to go through nursery policies and complete the following documents:

  • Parent induction form
  • Confirmation of booking form
  • EY1 form – if relevant
  • Security card (issue)
  • Nursery pen

The parent will spend time settling the child into the room where they will both become familiarised with the environment and routines. The Child's key Carer will be introduced and spend time getting to know both parent and child.

At this time, any likes or dislikes, routines, dietary or special requirements etc will be discussed.
