Health and Safety standards are a major priority, and in order to facilitate these, everyone (ie: staff, parents, visitors and children) is expected to adhere to the following guidelines:-
- No unsupervised play in the nursery
- Individual lotions and creams (where applicable) for nappy changing etc (provided by parent)
- No external doors to be left open on entry or exit of building
- Follow rulings as laid down in 'Health and Illness' section
- All children to be properly handed over to and received by a recognised member of staff before leaving the building
- No child to be handed back to anyone other than the recognised parent or carer, unless otherwise arranged. If this does occur, the parent / carer will first be contacted for permission before handing the child over
- Any unrecognised person will not be allowed on the premises until ID is provided.
- Secure entry procedure ( number buttons, swipe cards or touchpad systems)
- Regular fire drills are carried out
- Smoking is not allowed on the premises at any time
- In the event of fire, Children 1st @ Breedon House Fire evacuation procedure will be adhered to.
- Fire drills and equipment tests are implemented at regular intervals, and logs maintained.
- Staff training with regard to emergency procedures is undertaken
- Statutory inspections take place by the Fire Department.
