Equal Opportunities

*

Children 1st @ Breedon House believe that all Children should be treated and respected as individuals whose needs should be catered for.

Children 1st @ Breedon House recognises that certain groups and individuals in our society are discriminated against because of their race, colour, ethnic or national origin, gender, physical, sensory or mental disability, marital status, age, social class, religious belief, sexual orientation, employment status, and if they are HIV positive.

Accordingly, we are strongly committed to positive action being taken to remove/counter discrimination in all aspects of our work: in our practice as employers; in the way we work with other organisations; and in all our work with children, their families and others.

Children 1st @ Breedon House will consider equal opportunities in all aspects of the service it provides, and will monitor it regularly for effectiveness.

All children are given equal access to all experiences in the use of play equipment and activities according to their individual needs and requirements

Admissions

Our admissions policy is based on first come, first served, as each vacancy arises except for the baby rooms. Here the policy again is on applications, and a waiting list is used, but again on a first come, first served basis, for places available.

The exceptions are where a sibling is already attending Breedon House.

Before admission, all parents are asked to visit with their child on at least two occasions for short periods. This offers you an opportunity to observe our routine, form relationships with the carer of your child, but more importantly, it enables your child to share their new experience with people he/she trusts and loves.

The time of sharing cannot be underestimated. We all need this short time to share views and learn as much from each other as is practical.

Staff Appointments

These are made on the quality of the applicant for the post in question. Each applicant is subject to OFSTED approval prior to employment.

Children & Families

All our children and families are an integral part of our centres. Their interests are individual. We endeavour at all times to meet these responsibilities.

We treat children and their families as individual with respect for their gender, ethnic origin, culture, religion and specific needs.
