The Children 1st Unit at Derby Road is a 120 place facility and cares for Children between the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years. It was previously 2 smaller nurseries joined together and moved to a new refurbished building in 2003. The nursery is situated within easy walking distance of the town centre and is minutes from bus and train routes.
The building itself is housed on two levels and cares for children aged 6 weeks - 5 years on the ground floor and children 3 – 5 yrs on the first floor. There are also opportunities for children up to 12 yrs of age to join our OOS clubs upstairs. There is ample space for children to enjoy the outdoors in our play areas including grassed and soft surfaced safety play areas.
The nursery offers specialised baby units. One caring for the younger baby aged 6 weeks - 7 months, and additional units caring for the more mobile baby of 7 months and over.
