Recipes, Maasai and safari animals - all in a week at Plumtree!
Look at all the fun things we did this summer with our Holiday Club friends at Children 1st @ Plumtree!!
One day when we were baking we decided we wanted to make our own recipe book, so that's what we did! Miss Rachel found us lots of recipe books and we all chose a recipe to write. We drew pictures of all our ingredients and did some fantastic writing for the instructions. Now we have our very own nursery recipe book with our favourite recipes so we can do lots of baking!
We all enjoyed writing so much that the next week we made a story board; we all worked together to make up our own story about a magic rainbow shell that took us to a magic castle, where we turned into princesses and princes and played on the moon before the naughty ogre chased us back down - we all have fantastic imaginations!

But best of all... We visited Africa - We had such an adventure, saw so many animals and went on a safari!
We had seen lots of pictures of some children in a pre-school in Tanzania where they went on their own safari and dressed up as Maasai Tribal people. So, so did we!
We made tribal headbands and necklaces, before having our passport photos taken and boarding the plane (we even got a sweetie to suck before taking off so our ears didn't pop).
We flew over France and Italy and were very tired when we landed in Africa, but we kept on going because we had lots of animals to find! We saw giraffes, antelopes, leopards and hippos. We even had time to learn some of the Maasai jumping dances before we left, it was so much fun that we kept our headbands and necklaces on all day. We also did some some writing and drawing about our 'trip to Africa' to show our parents what we saw.
So as you can see we have all had so much fun that we can't wait to come back in the next school holidays!
