Welcome to Our Day Nursery

Our Children 1st Nursery @ Sheffield is confirmed to be good with areas of outstanding by Ofsted. Set within the City Centre of Sheffield the Day Nursery provides a beautiful homely environment for children to grow and to learn in small family groups. The Nursery is situated within easy walking distance of the town centre and is minutes from bus routes.

Our newly developed Baby and Toddler Suite nurture our younger children 6 weeks – 3 years. Our highly skilled and experienced Nursery Nurses must have post qualifying experience with Children 1st Day Nurseries prior to caring for our babies and toddlers. They ensure they meet our babies and toddlers individual needs and requirements both physically and emotionally and endeavour to develop and maintain excellent partnerships with parents and carers.

Our Early Years Setting is managed by our highly skilled Early Years Teachers, who have sound knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our Nursery Team are passionate about offering exciting learning opportunities. Our carefully designed outdoor areas support and extend children’s learning and exploration. Children are invited to join in our dance and French activities. Our hairdresser visits the nursery once a month where children have the opportunity to visit the salon. On a Tuesday morning we have a Sheffield Wednesday skills class, the Sheffield Wednesday Community Coach holds two sessions in which children learn about following instructions and completing different physical challenges, as well as playing team games.

Our children leave Day Nursery confident, independent and happy with a real thirst for the next stage of their development.

Our Breakfast Clubs, After School and Holiday Clubs invite our children back at the beginning and end of the day. Children have the opportunity to relax, do their homework or join in with the activities specifically planned for their age and preference.

The Nursery works closely with local schools in order to make children’s transition to school an easy and happy experience and continues to nurture and maintain close relationships and links with the local community.
