Healthy Body, Happy Me at Children 1st @ Hathern
The children have really enjoyed taking part in the topic Healthy Body, Happy Me over the past week.
Early years explored nature, playing in the mud tray and transporting the mud and bark using different utensils. They also really enjoyed their science experiment using warm water and Skittles. The children talked about what they thought would happen before they added the water and then after making their predictions they began tipping the water in the middle of the plate. They watched the colours slowing move from the Skittles into the water and talked about the pattern it made. The children then discussed what colour the water would turn into if they mixed it all together.
Peter Rabbits really enjoyed exploring the water play, cleaning the toy people with sponges and using tweezers to pick up the pipe cleaners and other toys in the water. They also enjoyed doing some Yoga in the garden, trying to balance on one leg and do different poses. The children were really keen to try out the moves.
The babies liked taking part in music and movement, using the various musical instruments to make noises and singing their songs. They loved moving in different ways, spinning around and wiggling their bodies to the nursery rhymes and sounds the musical instruments were making.
